Shorty wires and rear diff gears

Okay guys I am concerned if there are any side effects to running shorty wires, or even good things.
Another thing my truck came with the ol 17s does that mean I have 3:55 gears?i do have the darn open diff. (one wheel wonder) . Regardless I'm wanting better torque and launch so what gears, locker ,diff, ect. Should I go with.. Info u may need should be in my mod list.. Thanks in advance guys

Shorty wires look better but I don't honestly think they make any real difference. With your high stall converter & cam I would say 3.92's or 4.10's (4.56's might be a bit too much). Some form of limited slip (not factory) would help.

Detroit true trac with 3:92-4:10 and if u dont travel much or run the interstate alot id say 4:56...u can order it all from jegs or summit

Also, try Moes performance, I got new rear end gear, 4.56, quick response and great price.
