Best cold air intake for offroad

Anyone have had any problems out of their CAI's while mudding sucking up water or mud? Or just opinions on any CAI offroad.

Sounds like you need a snorkel. R...

id get an enclosed one like S&B, at least the filter can't get splashed (like my does, aFe). Still won't prevent you from sucking up water if you get into some deep shit.

they do have snorkel kits out there, but obviously you have to cut into the front fender of your truck

The enclosed with the S&B works just make sure to to the plug into the second inlet that goes down behind your bumper.

Do yourself a favor and extend all your vents, get a snorkel and a smoke stack :)

rule#1 of Gas trucks.. No stacks.
If it can't roll coal, then there is no need for one.

Snorkel idea, never seen on a Ram but they do their job lol.

All the reviews rank S&B at the top. I have no off road experience with a HEMI, although I just bought one. The guys with HEMI in their profile you can take it to the bank. My off road is an old 5.9 magnum 1500 you could probably roll down a mountain and it would survive. R...

thanks for the advice guys, so you think that the k&n offroad series for our trucks is still probably prone to sucking up water dirt ect? I live in florida and we love to go back road riding and let me tell you some of it gets pretty nasty but i go around stuff i know is deep deep shit lol im looking for a balance between protection and HP and torque gains.

A intake wont net you a whole lot of power, since the oem airbox does a great job, they will give it a nice growl though. Volant and s&b would be a good choice if your dead set on one.

But personally, for the little gain, and then the slight risk that comes with it. Id just stick with oem and get a drop in k&n filter.

sounds like a good idea for now. I imagine i can find a filter in the classifieds on here.
