Catch can?

So I couldn't help but notice nearly everyone on the z has a catch can is it something I should look into buying/do you see it helping at all? Just curious. Also what would be the best place to buy one?

When you ask if we see it "helping at all", I am not quite sure what that means.

It does not appear to help with gas mileage.
What is does is help keep oil from being blown from the PCV valve back into the intake.

I decided to install one after reading Asur's explanation:

I do not have a tuner and do not plan on using one.
However, we do run our truck fairly hard.
We do a lot of heavy hauling and towing our boat to the coast.

I have seen people around the net post that it is not needed and does not really do anything.
My thought is, it certainly does not hurt to keep the crap out of the intake.

and they do work, I have seen lots of photos of people opening them after driving around for awhile and they have collected quite a bit of oil.

Hope this helps you make a decision.

ETA: as for the best place to get one,
I bought mine direct from Billet Technologies during their Labor Day sale.
There are other manufacturers and you can even make one yourself.
You just need to decide what can you want and look around for the best price.

The can works great.....Ive had mine since July, checked it twice so far, and there has been oil in it both times. Billet technologies is the place to go.......very nice product.

They do work as designed, just look at all the catch can posts around not only this forum but others, where users attach photos or describe the amount of oil the can has captured in relatively short span of time. I have been convinced for a long time, but slow to move. I just ordered a Moroso catch can and will be installing it shortly after receiving it.

Not having that crap go down the intake makes a catch can a great investment.

I don't doubt they work. I'm more concerned with the actual color is it anadized or is it painted. How close is the color to plum crazy purple?
