Drivers side door switch
Trying to solve a 2 year mystery...
When the switch is plugged in, the window goes straight down without touching anything. I've tried replacing the switch but the same thing happens. When connected, the window motor runs hot. I've been searching for an answer to this problem for prob close to 2 years now. Only one person was able to give it a temporary fix which he said he had to tie the wire to another relay/modulator/whatever. He said that the fuse box may eventually need to be replaced. now, I'm not a expert in these things obviously but I have been searching for answers for a while now. I asked if it was the TIPM and he said no....just the fuse box. Is it possible that a faulty window motor/regulator could burn the connection to the switch and thus make that switch not work? This is all the info I've got... Anyone else have a solution? Thanks
Worst case scenario, it's your cluster. Best case scenario, it's your motor. Either way, you're going to have to do a little troubleshooting. Kinda hard to do it here, but... do you have some basic 12V test equipment? Like a test light or a volt meter?
