Hey all. I am going to start saving up for some new rims/tires for my truck. I have a 2011 Crew Cab Laramie. It is white with the tan second-tone color along the bottom. As you can imagine, it has a lot of chrome accents on it.
However, I think chrome wheels are ok (especially the ones that came with it), but if I'm going to drop around $1000, I don't think I want straight chrome. I've never been a fan personally. Unfortunately, I don't think black wheels would look good with this truck. OR WILL IT??
I saw some "smokey chrome wheels the other day. I was told they were painted black then chromed. They were pretty sweet looking. Anyone ever seen these on a truck such as mine??
What about the machined aluminum/steel look?
I just put a set of eagle alloy 8x17 Baja and toyo proxes 285 60 17 `s on my standard cab short box slt, love the polished look. the center hole is not even close. I am having more road noise than with the stock wheel and wranglers. wondering if I need hub center centrics ?
Sound great you're looking into wheels.
JMHO, Chrome looks good on white but you need to break it up. As you said, a smokey look my be nice.
Do a search on google Images of white Ram Trucks with Rims, you'll see some nice wheels and rims.
