I have some traxxas stuff but haven't used it in years :(. Would like to sell it all actually. I think I had a nitro rustler or nitro sport but put some money into it with a bigger engine and some other upgrades. They sure are fun but they are also pricey.

I am into the Nitro stuff. I have built up a HPI Savage. with a bigger engine all alluminum and a hardened trans. also, have a nitro rustler that i built up too. Lots of fun.

Nice savage, a lot of money in those aluminum parts haha. does look good though.

Well my son was very interested in the hobby....Started out with a GST 7.7 and then moved onto a Savage XL...The XL is a shelf queen....Too much money in the upgraded parts....LOL.....SO after running nitro he wanted to go into gassers.....

Needless to say, we have a few gassers as well. 1/5 scale....Having fun with those and so far so good.....Try and post some pics if I get a chance.....

I would love a 1/5 scale. they are just to much money. I guess if I kept it simple with the Savage I could have bought one. But you know how it goes. I just can't leave well enough alone.

yeah I want a 1/5 losi 5t but not spending that much on a rc truck that im just gonna upgrade anyways hahaha

I dabbled in in for a few months many years back and loved it!

Some of the RC vehicles are serious $$$'s.

Good thread.

my step dad had some traxxas stuff as well that we messed around with. nothin serious.

I sold it a couple months ago for $200 i think. It was about 3-4 years old.

I used to be pretty big into the airplane R/C stuff. Back when brushless motors were new tech.

Got into it with the thought of doing something cool with my daughter. However, it never really got off the ground, no pun intended.

Gods above I spend alot of money on that hobby. $100 a pop on the dang lipos almost killed me. Of course, when I went to sell, it was virtually worthless. I got less than .10 on the dollar for that investment, lol.

Had several foamies from the wild little 3d ones to a couple .40 size units. Multiplex came out with probably the best foam material ever. dang that stuff was really tough. way way better than almost all of the stick built ones I tried. Put a couple pre-stressed fiberglass poles in the wings and control surfaces, and some strapping tape, once covered with econokote and they were far more durable. buddy flew one of my Magisters into a chain link fence at full throttle. broke both wing spars off, (plastic break away bolts there anyway!) and wrecked the motor cradle, simple fix there too. that was it. the entire structure of the plane was totally usable, and the foam protected the battery from being crushed.

Of course, I did have a lipo failure on a tiger moth once. started to smoke, caught fire, and crashed into the ground in a spectacular recreation of a WWI movie. I would have been seriously angry if it hadn't been so totally epic. Smoke started pouring out of the cowl on a close pass, coming from the underside just like the movies, then the whole cowl went up in smoke and it flamed up, burning the pilot compartment. Then the servo's quit so it did a nose over, and 180 spin right into the ground, with the upper wing breaking away about 10' above the ground. It was made of normal styrofoam so it burst into flames on impact. when I got to it there was virtually nothing left. So wish I would have had someone else out there with me to film it.
