switching to a wider tires

so i want to switch my stock tires (245/70/17) to 285/65/20.
what will be affected on the long run if i do this. like for example will it break my 4x4? will it affect other components? or should i just stick to stock but those tires looks to small for my truck. any inputs and advices will be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

thats not that big of a tire at all.

there are guys running 37" tires that are 13.5" wide or wider with no problems.

go for it buddy

Yup, what gonefishin said above ^^

Your truck will probably be a bit slower off the line and you'll lose a bit of fuel economy because of the increase size and rolling resistance. But it shouldn't be much at all and definitely shouldn't stop you from going for it. A wider, taller tire will look much better!

The only time you have to worry about tire size is if you start to rub, or if they become so heavy your braking isn't up to par with the meat. That size is all too common in the area, so you'll be on the same level as most of the Rams on the roads.
