Need help with tire sizing
Hello everyone,

So I'm looking to get some different rims and tires for my 09 Ram 1500. Right now I just have the stock rims and tires. I want to drop down from the stock 20" rim to an 18x9. I have a 2" level in the front, and I'm wondering how big of a tire I can get without them rubbing? I would be up for getting spacers too if needed. Any advice would be helpful!

if you get a 0 offest wheel at minimum. You'll definitely be able to clear a 35x12.5x18 tire.

if you want a good stance (tires sticking out some) then start going negative. -12mm stance with 35s would look great on your leveled truck!

With only a 2" leveling kit (rather than a 2.5") running 35's is pushing it. You will probably end up rubbing on the back of the inner fender near full lock. Especially if you go with a -12 offset wheel. However it is fairly easy to fix that with either a heat gun or drilling a couple holes and zip tying the fender back a ways.

I'd probably stick closer to something that measures 34" tall if I was you.... you'll just have less problems to deal with.

Personally, I'd go with a 33 inch tire so the wheelwells don't look so "stuffed".

Thanks for the input guys! I'm considering going towards a little bigger size even if it looks a little tight in the fenders bc eventually I'd like to get a 3-4" lift.
