Grand Cherokee SRT

I was at the dealer today and they had a black Grand Cherokee SRT. The sticker read $67,000. That is DOUBLE the price of my 2013 Ram.

HO. LY. CRAP.

I'd rather have one with the V6 or 5.7 hemi. I've driven the Jeep SRT8'S and thought that they were useless except if you like racing from stop light to stoplight. They have no ground clearance, can't go off road. From 0-60 they are wicked, though. On the other hand, the basic one with V6 is an outstanding vehicle.

Since the closest competition is a Cayenne Turbo, X5M, ML63AMG, and Supercharged Range Rover, they can demand a hefty price. The Jeep is $30-80K less than those, and the performance isn't far off (equal). A loaded Overland can get well into the $50Ks. So can an Explorer, Acadia, etc. I'd love an SRT8 Jeep, but I will never have one. I do have an '11 LaredoX with Pentastar. It's a perfect all-weather vehicle for the wifey.

Fun ride if you have the money to burn on an mall racer. Rather spend the money on a Challenger.

I have my Ram and as far as my SRT8 I drive a 08 Super Bee. There is no comparison in the two vehicles. The SRT8 even gets better gas mileage even when you goose it to hear that great sounding exhaust. On a side note though the current prices are nuts for the SRT8's.

Looked at a black one too Sunday. Love it, if I had an extra $62k...... Wife's looking at a 2014 Jeep GC, but V6 and 8 speed.

Jeeps' have always commanded a high price. and they have held their value well I think. I paid something like $20k for a ZJ limited in late 1992. But, it's still on the road pushing close to 400k last time I heard from the current owner.

That is impressive! We had an 2003 Grand Cherokee that I sold last year. At 75,000 things just started to fall off. At a little over 110K the transmission started slipping. Each repair bill was between $500-1000. I loved the car, but it was pricey. I think the mistake was that it was the Inline 6.

I drove a 2011 Grand Cherokee two years ago before the 8 speed and it just felt slow and heavy.

SRT8 however would be a little bit different.

My buddy has a procharged one and that thing is wicked from a dig! I wouldn't pay money for one but wouldn't kick it out of bed if it followed me home.

Really though, how many Jeep Grand Cherokees are going to go off road?
