Diff Questions

So I got rid of my Ram a while back and have had several vehicles since. I am now back in the market for another truck and have my eyes on a clean 2004 Ram 1500 SLT QC 4x4. It is a 5.7 Hemi with an automatic. I am curious if anyone can tell me what gear ratio these trucks came with and what type of differentials. I'm assuming that the front is probably open even though I wish they were limited-slip. But my main question is the rear diff, is it open, posi, or limited-slip. I may go look at the truck this weekend so I would really like to get some answers pretty quick. Hopefully someone can help out!

Can't tell without either physically looking at the axles and having the build sheet in front of you. Good luck with it.

Factory 3.55 or 3.92; if it was modified, not telling what you got in there.

I have the same question, having just bought a 2006 Ram 5.7L. Where should I look to find the build sheet?

Go here and ask for a build sheet.

If it came from the factory with 20" rims then it will be 3.92's. Only if it was built that way though, not dealer or previous owner add-ons.
