Everybody loves accident pictures

I was rear ended last week and figured I would share my pictures. I was stopped and turning left and there was a go around lane to my right but obviously this person didnt feel like changing lanes and tried to go through me. Truck is in the shop now and should come back looking better than it did before i was hit. https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/...51557976_n.jpg

I am getting a new tail gate, new hitch, new bumper, new bed side plus some body work done on the cab. Luckily there was no frame damage

Damn, hit it perfectly on the frame horn. At least you came out better than my 3rd gen did when I was rear ended.

yeah i think i lucked out. I have been hunting every morning before work and towing a trailer for the john boat so i had the ball in the receiver still. I never leave that in the hitch because i cant stand the clunking. I should have the truck by Wednesday.

Sorry to hear that you were smucked... awesome pics and really glad everyone is ok... I just showed my wife your pics and she is very glad she let me get my dream truck now! very sturdy and safe!

Oh hell yeah the truck did great. By the impact and how long I could hear the cars tires screaming for before hitting i would guess they were doing 35-40 mph. The kid was 17 and the situation sucks for me but some people need to learn the hard way. Just lucky no one was hurt and thank god for insurance. $6000 in damage to the truck.

It is exactly this reason why I leave my ball in (yeah guys, I have a ball, two when I am mad!). I figure if I am gonna get rear ended I am going to take out as much of their front end as I possible can!

And that's why it's illegal for us in Alberta to have a ball left in the receiver if we're not towing. Since we're easily 50% trucks on the road up here and half of those are lifted 4+" there were enough cars that have had hitches through hoods/windshields that it was becoming dangerous.
