new head unit

I have a 2005 1500 with uconnect and infinity 7 speaker system and I was wondering If a gen 4 head unit would fit without to many mods. The main reason I would want to do this rather than aftermarket is I want to keep the factory look and features. But the gen 4 has the aux jack which is the only thing I want.

Also I have the 6 disk changer

I have 2005 Ram 1500 as well. Mine had an Alpine aftermarket radio, and did not like the sound, quality, or looks. So I changed it to Clarion NZ503 (Flip out screen) and could not be happier. It is single DIN and has bluetooth, Nav, CD, DVD, USB, and multiple Aux connection, and I decided to hook up Crimestopper back up camera. Really nice! Sonicelectronics has a very attractive price on these.

ALL 4th Gen Rams use a High Speed Bus System
you can't use it

some other dodge & chrysler vehicles radios look the same as the Ram radios & they have a LOW SPEED Bus System

the thing is, i believe your radio is a SINGLE DIN
The 4th Gen Ram radios are size 1 1/2 or 1.5 DIN, i don't know if the others are too
the most common upgrade is 2 DIN also called Double Din

you can do some research here
