suggestions on superchips 3865??

Well i just pulled the trigger and ordered a superchips 3865, found one online used for $100 so thought that beat a $350 brand new one. but was wondering what tune people have been liking to run with it and any other options you have changed with it like limiter and shift points. Hoping to see a pretty good improvement with this but if not at least it will correct my speedometer which is off by 7mph due to those 35's lol

also have a s&b intake coming this week as well :)

You won't be able to trans tune that 99 at all. It will probably allow you to lift any rev or speed limiters, but that's about it. You'll have 87, 91 towing and 91 tunes (based on octane). 87 pulls timing, 91 is fun, 91 tow ups it a bit but doesn't advance the timing as much (IIRC). I get better mileage with the 91 tune than I did with the 87 (when I can keep my foot out of it).

I get about the same mpg on the 87 tune and 93 tune so I switched back to 87. Doesn't seem to be cost effective on the 93 although has a little more power.

$100 for a 3865 is a really good deal. Are you sure it's unlocked? If not it'll cost you another $100 for SC.

Thanks for the info guys! and i found it in another state thru craigslist so i was kinda concerned about it being locked. but the guy seemed real nice and said i could come tune my truck first and then pay him to prove its not locked but then i had to break the news that i was out of state and asked him about shipping it so we settled on paypal and he shipped it out today so i trust that its unlocked... but like you said you never know with buyin used.. he did seem to be a good guy tho, even joked that i helped pay for his 10 year anniversary dinner with his wife lol so my good deed for the day is done :smiley_thumbs_up:

Could you tell a difference with your 3865 ?
I have been runnin on the 91 octane performance for a while and don't really see a difference between it and stock

Well...if you ever find yourself coming through MD, I have a DRBIII and can fix it for you.
