Aux Fuel tank size
Don't know where to post this but what do you think would be too big of a tank to add to a 1500 hemi. I have a guy that is selling an RDS fuel tank toolbox combo that is 51 gallon. Would that be too much added weight or would I be ok?

LowUFO 10-15-2013 08:48 PM

That's like 400lbs in added weight. Do you really need it?

dixon4420 10-15-2013 08:54 PM

Half the time I need it half the time I don't. I would like to be able to go more than 350-400 miles a tank. I do tons of driving and a lot of it through mountains that don't exactly have gas stations close.

I'm more interested in where you're going to mount it.... ?

dixon4420 10-15-2013 09:06 PM

This is it. Its the same size as a drop in toolbox you can mount to the bed of the truck

Grubrunner 10-15-2013 09:21 PM

Okay, I've never seen that before.

Like the "stealth" appearance.

You currently have the 26G tank?

dixon4420 10-15-2013 09:29 PM

Ya I have a 26 gal tank right now.

Grubrunner 10-15-2013 09:37 PM

Okay, cool.

Keep us updated if you go this route.

I think I would call and ask why they don't recommend it for gas engines before you buy it----

dixon4420 10-15-2013 09:48 PM

Ya I wondered about the gas thing too. Would gas for some reason corrode the metal versus diesel ? Doesn't seem right to me but I don't know anything about diesel
