Spyder Industries Black Venom Bull Bar Install
I want to start out by saying Thank you to Spyder Industries for their Awesome Bull Bar, Great customer service and fast shipping.
I looked all over the internet at Bull Bars and kept coming back to Spyder Industries, because it was different. I didn't want one that everyone had and EBAY sellers had figured out how to knockoff.
I own a 2013 Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab. I contacted Spyder Industries and found out they don't advertise the Express because there are some plastic pieces that have to be modified in order to fit the bull bar. I took a look under the truck and figured the plastic piece that had to be modified were not extremely important, that the structure integrity had to be kept.
So I went and placed my order. A week later it was shipped. I received the box and was surprised how well the bar was packaged, with a 60lb bull bar bouncing around.
The bigger brackets in the picture above are the brackets that mount to the frame of the truck. The bracket has two wholes that are suppose to mount to the frame. On the Express there is only one bolt to mount the brackets.
In order to get the bracket to fit there is a plastic support that has to be trimmed to make room. I used a razor blade (sheetrock knife). I heated up the blade with a lighter and it cut through the plastic very easy.
Once the top bracket is installed. The bottom bracket connects with the top bracket with two nuts and bolt provided. In order to get the bottom bracket to fit the front diffused needs to be trimmed as well. I used a razor blade for this too.
After the bottom bracket is installed the bull bar can be mounted to the bottom bracket. I had help from a friend. I don't think this could be done by yourself. Bull bar mounts to bottom bracket with three nuts and bolt provided.
There is some adjustment that can be made to position the bull bar the way you like.
