No A/C or heat from vents...Just smoke

I have a 99 dodge ram pickup. I can't use my defroster or even turn on the heat or A/C because my windshield immediately fogs up. Now as soon as I turn the truck on, a white smoke comes out of the front vents even when the truck is idling. I don't smell any antifreeze & I haven't found any puddles in the floor. Would it still be a heater core problem? Is there anything else it might be & is there anything I can check before taking it in & having the heater core replaced?

First off, welcome to the forumZ, Angie. Stop by the newbie checkin and introduce yourself.

As for your beast, just because you're not smelling anti freeze doesn't mean it's not there. The best way to check to have a cooling system pressure test done on it. If it looses pressure, then you know you have a leak and will need to find it. So, with that being said, it could be your heater core (most likely) or it could be that your ducts are collecting condensation and that's what is causing the white fog. Do you have a musty smell when you get in and/or start it up?
