About to buy 2010 Laramie, questions
Fellas, first post here, thanks in advance.

Looking at a real clean 2010 1500 hemi with crew cab and all options. Drives really well, feels good. I looked up the VIN and it wasn't on the recall list for the rear dif. No major repairs. Sounds like the front CV/axles can go on these if you're using lots of 4WD? I also didn't hear any of the reported hum/noise from the cylinder deactivation when driving in 5th. Anything else I should look for?

This is a great handling truck as you know, really nice leather too. Was going to add on a 4/40k bumper to bumper warranty also as I've heard some problems with the Alpine stereo.

Price is good, some minor front bumper damage, but 62k on it and they want $25k, blue books for $28k.

Sounds a mite high. My dealer offered a 2014 Tradesman with hemi, 4x4, skid plates, hd tow package to my dad for $25,000. I honestly think they would have dropped it to $24,000. He ended buying a 2013 Silverado, V8 4x4 rc 8' bed for $23,990. I don't know why front CV joints would be a problem, almost 200,000 miles on my 05 Ram, and I use her to skid out logs. Same basic design, except mine has torsion bars. Hard to compare an 05 with a 2010, but mine has been solid as a rock and trouble free.

The price does seems slightly high. Do a search around using Autotrader and see what you come up with for comparable prices. It might give you a bargaining chip.

As far as the truck goes, I have a 2010 Big Horn crew cab and really have no complaints. I bought it with 36k on it and it's got about 52k on it now. I haven't done anything to it other than normal maintenance, mostly just oil changes. The few things that come to mind, more design related than mechanical issues. The seat head rests are terrible and tipped too far forward. The passenger side front footwell area is very cramped and forces your legs to the outside of the footwell. This is ok for shorter rides but gets a little old for longer trips. Off the top of my head that is all I can come up with. It's a great truck, just get it for the best price you can.

Good stuff, much appreciated!

Depending on where you live that sounds very close to a good price, negotiate down a little and you will love her.

Eugene, Oregon. There are only 6 Laramies within 250 miles for sale. Bought her today, 24,250! Blue book was 29,000 but there are a few small dents/scrapes outside, perfect leather inside, Nav, heated/cooled seats, trailer brake controls. Also a Tuxedo bed cover, new stock Wrangler tires which are going soon.

Will be putting the Bilsteins struts up front to raise/level it a bit. Back rides high unless you put 750 lbs in it seems...

Congrats! That sounds like a decent price!

I thought about leveling mine but then I figured when the camper was hooked up the nose would just be in the air so I passed on the idea.

Yep, got a 4/40k max Chrysler warranty. Already noticed at night that one of the mirror lights flickers, loose wire I'm guessing.
