Warranty Question, Building Welding Rig
Hey guys, new to the forum. I have been searching around and couldn't find any information on this but I'm going to be building a new welding rig soon and what better truck to be doing that with up north here in the cold than a Cummins, Specifically the 3500. Now I know I can order this truck as a Chassis & Cab but you're pretty limited to options with this model. I want the longhorn and fully loaded etc. etc. so I have to stick with the full truck model.
So here's the question.
Will removing the box and installing a custom welding bed void warranty.
I doubt it'll void power train warranty.
Also if it is done by a shop that specializes in it, will that help?
Might be a stupid question because it does sound like it will void the warranty hence them offering Chassis & Cab but wanting to know a little more detail.
If you haven't bought the truck yet, why not buy a Chassis Cab model? Can't you upgrade the interior a bit to give her a bit more luxury, maybe leather seat covers? I'd tell my dealer what I'm planning. If it's arc welding, must there be a way to disconnect batteries? I understand the draw of a Laramie, though, damn, they are sweet!
