Need help with removing front bumper of 2007 Ram 1500

Hey guys,

Back in January during one of Atlanta's "snowstorms" I rear ended someone on a patc of ice. Still haven't fixed my front bumper yet and it's getting on my nerves.

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get it off? I have already bought the bottom chrome/steel part of the bumper and want to go ahead and install it then put the old paint matched fascia on until I can buy a new one.

It's a 2007 Ram 1500 SLT

Thanks for the help!

The easiest way would be dynamite. But you're probably wanting to put the new one back on the truck? Am I right? If it's the same as, or at least similar to, my 05, there should be 8 bolts holding it to the frame on the back side of the bumper. Kind of a pain in the ass to get to, but with an impact extension and a good impact gun, you should be able to get them off no problem.

just get under there and look. it's pretty easy. I had to replace the same thing on mine.

I just removed mine yesterday to install the oem tow hooks. Get under the truck and you will see 4 bolts that fit a 18mm socket connecting the bumper mount to the frame. I sprayed them with liquid wrench 10 mins before and then agaon right before I went at them, and had no trouble removing them. There will also be 2 plastic plugs going from the plastic tray under your grille/red that connects to the bumper. An extra set of hands makes it real easy to remove and reinstall it perfect.
