Bilstein Deal

Well I just bought a set of Bilstein 5100s from autoanything. They are currently on sale and are also running a 10% off sale. I picked them up for $183.00 which I thought was a good deal. Just thought I'd let everybody know.

Congrats on the deal. I will only say I hope you had better luck with them than I did. I just replaced my pair because I needed one and everywhere seemed to be back ordered.

Why Bilstein?? What is wrong the factory Dodge/mopar shock on my truck? I only ask because I do not know. Thanks.

They eventually wear out and lose their damping ability as the valves wear out or the seals break down.

After 39K miles with factory shocks and springs and then 2-3 with months with 35s and factory shocks mine were toast.

Bilstein's 5100 model is the preference of most of the guys here because it allows you to have a heavy duty off road oriented shock while also saving you money so you don't have to purchase a leveling kit so you kill two birds with one stone. Bilstein is seen a premium shock in the marketplace which is one of the reasons that GM was able to build the Z71 Off Road package into such a huge force in the truck market....and then it became stickers only, but it appears that for '14 they are using Ranchos. FWIW

Not a problem!

I'm about to post a Moog part numbers thread for guys needing the numbers for ball-joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar links. I've bought enough front shocks for my truck I can go kick around the barn and figure out the part numbers for both Bilsteins, and the Rancho for anyone needing a quick reference.
