2" lift.... up or down?

Hey guys, I'm going to be looking into leveling the truck out, I'm not a big fan of the factory strafe we have goin on. I want to ask you opinion, should I lift the front 2", or lower the back 2"? I'm looking for something that is cost effective, and still leaves my truck looking big & mean :D

Also, whats the difference between cast aluminum and polyurethane as far as durability/quality goes? Which is better? I found two front 2" lifts, and one is cast aluminum the other is polyurethane... I think it said polyurethane anyway. lol

In my opinion, it would probably easier and more cost effective if you lowered the rear end vice raising the front end. If you raise the front end then you have to contend with the alignment issues that would ensue. If you lower the rear it's just a matter of dropping the rear and installing blocks. No alignment issues to contend with other making sure the rear didn't shift. My .02 worth.

hm. thnx for your input. Let me also state that my dad is my mechanic... and so I dont get charged labor :P And he has 3 different lifts in his shop, so getting weight off the weels/springs/sruts wouldn't be a problem.

sorry I didn't think about the mechanic $ side of things when i posted earlier.

Last 3 truck I have went with the front. I vote front and have used the Aluminium and the poly. Both are good.

yea true, knowing that you have a mechanic and its your dad, with a shop/lift, i would vote front, it would make the truck look meaner cuz its lifted slightly then lowered slightly. once you lift the front, throw on some oversized tires to top it off. be sure to post some before and after pics. goodluck.

thnx :D Oversize tires will have to wait, i still commute 20 miles to and from college, dont wanna kill what mpg I have right off! But I'm thinking come springtime I may bump em up to something more aggressive. Will definately take before/after pics. In other news, I bought some chrome nerf bars today. Will put em on ASAP after they get shipped here!
