Buying from another state
How does it work if you buy a ram from another state? Lets say you live in new jersey and buy from south carolina. Do you pay taxes on both? how much is shipping? do they take trades? All details welcome please. thanks guys

Done this several time, You can tell the dealer that your going to pay the sales tax in your state, they will call the DMV in your state and get the sale tax on vehicle or you can just pay it. Depends on if you bring the financing or go through there's, and yes I have traded out of state.

I bought mine in Indiana and drove it back to NY. Indiana requires you pay their sales tax if you are driving it off the lot. When I registered it in NY I had to pay the difference.

It depends on the state. I live in MD but bought in PA. I only paid MD taxes at the PA dealership. I'm not sure about NJ but MD requires that the vehicle pass inspection prior to registering it. Luckily, since the dealership was close to the MD line, it was already MD inspected. As stated prior, out-of-state dealerships will take trades.
