gibson super truck exhaust - CAI

well first off just wondering who else on here is running the gibson super truck exhaust and what do u think? i love mine, turns heads everywhere and is simply the best sounding stock v8 ive ever heard to me...anyone else??

also i noticed a lot of you guys tend to stay away from K&N intakes? its all ive ever used...any reasons why?

Don't hear a whole lot about the Gibson exhausts anymore. As far as K&N, all I have ever read is that they can potentially let too much dirt in and cause more harm than good.

We have all found CAIs that fit our style more!

:thk:

I know of a REALLY great intake! The BFI by Airflow Innovations!

I see that you have a 02, are you running with a 4.7 or the 5.9?

RAMROD5 05-29-2009 12:37 PM

i have heard that too but thats with people who dont maintain and oil the filter in my opinion. and shes a 4.7

That 4.7 would love to have a BFI attached to it!

I dont have any issues with K&N besides the fact they are expensive but i can understand it bein a hassle with havin to clean them all the time. My complaint is the tubing to the TBI K&N really cheaped out with the plastic and to get the upgraded on is like 200 more.

I hear you there man.

Plastic is not what I would want an intake made out of.

Agreed!! I like the BFI and I also like the Ramhammer. They are both made of aluminum and connect straight to the TBI instead of the plastic intake box on top of the TBI

16 gauge rolled steel.

K&N claims the plastic is a better thermo insulator to keep the heat out. i dont know if its true and im not vouching for it, just what they claim. i do know metal makes a good heat sink.
