Question on warranty for US truck in Canada

Hi gang, i need some advice

I'm looking at purchasing a 2008, ram 3500 with about 7000 kms. Its a US truck imported to Canada via a dodge dealer. It apparently doesn't have a US warranty in Canada... but if i drove it across the line for service... does it have warranty in the USA?

I'm debating on purchasing a 80,000 km, 4 yr aftermarket warranty for $3600+GST... just in case the person before me drove it into the ground. Its looks great, even smells new, no body issues and i'm doing a car fax to see what that says.

anything else i can do to save my bacon, in case i screw myself?

Any and all thoughts are much appreciated

If it's imported to Canada by especially by a dodge dealer dodge should still be warranty-ing it. I know someone who bought a used chevy from a dealership in town it came from the states, the dealership changed the instrument cluster so km/h was bigger than the mph readings, and it has full warranty still. Can't see why it would be different with dodge.

U.S. vehicles imported into Canada have no waranty. Chrysler is the only manufacturer that doesn't transfer there warranty. Not sure why must be to protect Canadian dealers
