Traction control?

I got a 2007 ram 1500 trx4 single cab shortbed. I know it's supposed to have the lsd since it the trx4 model. does it have some kind of traction control also? i know the engine should have enough power to turn the wheels over but it just doesn't want to do it. I've put it on tow/haul which I thought was just changing transmission shift firmness/points, took o/d off and it still doesn't want to spin. The only time it will do it is when its raining outside. Any input would help. thanks.

There might be a traction control but have you checked your manual?

No I haven't checked my manual but that's a good idea. I'm not used to having a manual as this is the only new truck I've ever had. wouldn't the manual just tell me if there is a traction control button or not though. I tried to find one but i didn't see anything.

checked the manual looks like there should be a button to turn it on and off if it has traction control. Mine has no button so I don't know, guess it doesn't have it. Do these trucks just not have what it takes to spin the tires or what?

If you have a single cab shortbed (assuming you also have a V8) it DEFINATELY has what it takes to spin em.

The thing about manuals is they're one size fits all. Even if it does say something about traction control, it may also say "if equiped". Check out your original sticker, and if that doesn't provide an answer than call the dealer (parts & service) and tell them you'd like to give them your VIN so they can tell you if it has TC or not.

I've never heard of anything with TC that doesn't also have a button to deactivate.

are you tryin to powerbrake and spin the tires? if so, don't slowy apply the throttle because tq management will kick in and pull timing....just apply enough brake to not move and quickly floor it (not necessarily slam it)... I couldn't do mine for the longest time when I just got mine and a buddy of mine got in and showed me how...here is one of my first ones... and then when I'm at the track...

No I'm not trying to powerbrake it. I was looking at my gauges real close to see if it has the light for esp and tc and it has it on there but I don't have a button it's stupid.

its the electronic throttle they put on these damn things. They give u delayed throttle reaciton. Slap a programmer in there and they'll bark. Most vehicles have tc even if they have a button or not i believe.

The HEMIs definitely do. If I remember it's called TMS, applies half the fuel to the engine during first gear, then dumps what it needs once it shifts into second. Helps prevent the tires from spinning on take off. I have heard on the 2003 it is an easy mod to cut a wire under the hood on the passenger side, but starting in 2004 Dodge hid the wires inside the box over there and made it less accessible. A programmer does the same thing though, bypasses the TMS.

So if I get a programmer I wont have a problem with that anymore? I was thinking about geting the diablo sport since thats what everyone on here recomends.
