Coating nerf bars

Hey guys, i'm planning on some nerf bars, but i'm going for the blacked out (murdered) look on my truck. I need them for the gf to get in and out...short people...

I've heard nothing but bad things about regular steel that's powder coated (3yr max lifespan), so i've been thinking about getting a set of SS bars, then either powder coating them, getting bedliner and spraying them, or finally just painting them; all after being acid etched to give it some adhesion. What do you guys think would last the longest?

Stainless steel is the only way to go . Powder coating is very durable . Don't know if you have somebody that could do it for ya or could you buy them already done .

The black ones from Mopar (oval) are powder coated aluminum tubes and look good too!

It would probably be pretty spendy, but I would love to see someone take some SS Oval Tube and spray it with Line-X

That's what i've been thinking about. A set of 4" ovals sprayed with the hard Rhino-lining (just cuz it's what's in my bed already). The finish would be solid and in case of any chips, they wont rust. I think this will be the way I go.

I demand you post photos when done

Sort of late to the party, but LINE-X with LINE-X Xtra (prevents fading) is much more durable than powdercoating.

Steps will either be made of mild steel (can rust) or stainless steel (much more rust resistant). Stainless steps will typically have a lifetime warranty and mild steel steps will have a 3 year warranty. Obviously, SS will cost more.

NFabs with black LINE-X Xtra.
