so far so good. no problems. i'm picking up a PA speaker tomorrow :) the internal speaker is plenty loud. i have my radio under my center armrest in that cargo area. i have have the lid closed and the arm rest down and still hear it. it's an awesome radio. highly recommended. i'm getting it punched and tuned sometime this week as well.

on the back of the radio there is a plug for a pa. does anyone know where i can pick up a pa system?

Radio shack did sell them for cheap cheap. Not sure if they still do. Just a simple PA speaker with the correct jack on it, was around $8 or $9 last time I bought one.
