Hole in the bed of my Truck

Hey guys, I just got my truck and then i realized there was a huge hole about a foot by a foot in the bed. What should i do? Weld a piece of sheet metal over it?

A foot by a foot? Whoa... what the heck could have been going on there? You can get replacement pieces from places like JC Whitney that are the same pattern and can overlap in the bed or you can just fill in the piece that needs replaced.

Or you could cover it up with a bed mat :D:D:D

Was there always a hole there, like one cut out, or was it rust? If you got your truck used, the previous owner may have cut the hole for an exhaust stack..I've had friends do that. If it's rust, cut all the rust away and perhaps weld sheet metal and go from there.

Well, i threw a couple pieces of sheet metal over it, doesnt look good but its better than nothing. I think the idiot that had it before me was lazy, because he told me he replaced the fuel tank and he probably did it that way. He also cut the support out! I cleaned truck up on the inside and it looks a lot better.
