Kentucky

Glad to be here. I live Benton, Kentucky some 4 miles West of Kentucky Lake. This little corner of Kentucky is known as The Jackson Purchase because originally Andrew Jackson bought all this land from the Chickasaw Indians. The Jackson Purchase region is bounded by the Mississippi River to the west, the Ohio River to the north, and Tennessee River to the east. Here's a map with The Purchase in red.

How many other Kentucky members are here?

Hey guy's. I see a bunch of folks here on the Z from the Southeast so ya'll are my best bet at some backup for Gatty 2010. As of this morning there were 23 cars confirmed for the meet and only 1 truck, me. I need some help here!

Room at the "headquarters" hotel is still available as far as I know and Gatlinburg is FULL of many other places to stay if you'd rather be on your own.

It'll be a great time of year and lots of fun. Why not spend the whole week there and make the meet a part of your summer vacation. (I don't know if it's still available but when I reserved my room a couple of weeks ago the hotel gave me the special Z Meet rate for an entire week, not just the days of the meet - my wife and I were going up that week anyway and that saved us over $300 on where we were going to stay.)

Show the rest of the Mopar ForumZ that you care about your Ram as much as they do their cars.

Off my soapbox now....

Phrede from the northern part of the Commonwealth.

HemiByrd you didn't mention one of the most unique things about your area. The extreme western part of the state is the only part of any state where you must travel through another state to get there no matter what kind of transportation you use.

I'm located in Bowling Green. I always found that interesting Phrede. You have go into Tennessee to get there.

Right, if going by road. It was caused when the Ohio River course changed in the great New Madrid earthquake.

I had wanted to go there for a long time, just to say I had been there. A few years ago I was at a motorcycle ride in in Paducah and took the time to go. There is nothing but farmland there. I figured it was one of the safest areas to not get busted for speeding. What cop is going to spend 1/2 hour out of their own state to patrol such a small area? I set personal best records of speed limit plus 100MPH and speed limit times 3!
