US Army

I was in the field artillery, Pershing missiles, from 1968 through 1970. Our missiles were big (30+ feet long, 10,000 pounds), mobile two stage 400 kiloton nukes aimed at what, at the time, were Soviet Union forces. I was an instructor in the Pershing missile school at Ft. Sill and then on a firing team in West Germany.

How many other Army types do we have here?

Well after I was a supply guy at the 323rd Combat Support Hospital (Reserves), I was a Regular Army Supply SGT with the 3/321 Field Artillery Regiment out of Fort Bragg for a few years (M198 while I was there but they now have the XM777). We didn't spend much time in Ft. Bragg if you know what I mean, and so in 2007 I came back home; joined the Guard and after a year with the MPs, I'm now a Contracting NCO with the 4 man 1999th Contigency Contracting Team for the Joint Forces HQ, MI Army National Guard (and During the week I'm a Logistics Analyst for U.S. Army TACOM).

Go Army!!

HemiByrd, I served with the 56th FA BDE Pershing) in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany back in 83-85. Switched to LANCE, and then MLRS when they phased out the LANCE missile system.

Since I've been here in Kuwait, I've come across three other Soldiers who were Pershing.

Appreciate your service and leading the way for us current Soldiers. I salute you.
