Shaking in rear end?

Hey guys. I have a question..I was just wondering. Does anyone know what would cause shaking in the ass end of a truck?

I know my tire tread is pretty low and I'm gonna be getting new tires here shortly..but does anyone know why the ass end would shake when driving?

I'm convinced it's the crap-tastic tires that are on it. But I just wanted to know what you guys thought..

Thanks. :)

If it's not the tires , it could be just about anything . U-joints , bent wheel , out of round brake drum or warped rotor (depending if you have disc brakes) , bent axle , hung up brakes . See I could keep going . Get your tires on first and see what happens . If you still have issues were here to help . Talk to ya soon . Tom

:iagree: Put tires on there first, and if you go to a legit shop, ask them to do a steering/suspension eval on it...At SEARS, this is free to get checked out, plus they have some good tires there too...But, see what they come up with,

Thanks guys. My dad's friend [who runs an auto shop] is getting me the tires. I'll mention it to him when I take it in to get the tires on it. I added some air to the back tires yesterday and it calmed down a little. The tires are crap tho. I'll keep you guys updated. :)

I just realized that the one back tire isnt retaining air. So maybe thats whats causing it?I'm taking it back to the dealership on Monday so have them look at it. I havent even had it a month. :\

Good news, guys! The dealership replaced the back right hand tire and the shaking is practically non-existant! :) Thanks for all your help thruout this.

What kind of tires you get ?

Didn't get new ones..the dealership replaced the crap one with another Goodyear wrangler..which suck but they'll do for now..until I can get a lil more money together to buy the new ones. Any suggestions on good ones? Preferrably not too too expensive.

Hate being a college graduate and poor. It's not fun. :\

Check out www.tirerack.com . I have gotten tires from them . They ship UPS and are normally on your door step the next day . If anything you can use their info on the site for comparing and pricing . I'm sure you can go to a local shop and get their house brand tires , but their normally not a good quality tire and wear out quickly .
