True hp

Not sure if this has been discused yet, but it says on the page before this that the 5.7 is 390hp, but ive heard the 5.7 is rated at 345+ hp, what is the true hp to the wheels on a stock hemi 5.7 single cab

Toms Blue Ram 1500 10-04-2009 10:01 AM

390 hp is for the newer vehicles .

CHILLZ HEMI 10-04-2009 10:40 AM

it does not matter whether is it single cab or quad cab...the 5.7L hemi engine from 2006-2008 puts out 345hp(300whp approximately), and the 09 puts out 390(345whp approximately)...

That would be pretty sick...good luck with that...

Chillz estimates are way too optimistic...stockwise, the 3rd gen hemis (345hp at crank) probably puts about 270-275hp to the wheels realistically..

..that's the feeling I give people when they ride in my qc...scare the bejeezus outta them when I spinem up from the gitgo.. and that's "only" with 370whp/390wtq...put's it at around 462hp at the crank (for people who like the crank numbers)

Yeah your right...the truck ran 300whp with a cai and exhaust on it at my school...all stock it runs about 275chp...

One also good point is that lighting i bet is about 1000 lbs lighter than our rams. Mine comes in at 6700 lbs for the 4x4 QC. For a half ton that's ALOT! Not to high jack this forum or anything but is their reason behind so much weight?

I've been to alot of dynos and seen first hand how disappointed some owners were...the drivetrain loss is incredible, guys were happy just to be in the 300hp level..
