4.7L build up begins! .40 over 10:1 + 10PSI + 100SHOT = OMG!

Our engine is in the mechanist getting the short block built right now.

Its going to be a 3.70 bore (.040) 4.7L with our Ross 10:1 race pistons and Scat H-Beam Rods. We plan to add 10PSI and then a 100SHOT to the top of that. But first we plan to run it N/A to see what we can wring out of it in NA trim.

We hope to run into the 8's NA. But we will take a 9.1X as I feel it should be able to knock out low 9's N/A.

We expect it to make just over 300RWHP N/A. With 10PSI we should see about 525RWHP and then a 100 shot should get us up to the 600HP mark. This engine will be built to take it.

This is sweet... It is awesome that you have been able to do all this with the 4.7. Nice to see something being done with the underdog.

I just bought Gibson headers from your website shorty headers. How much increase in power should I expect to notice. I have 3 inch single exhaust with a 40 series flowmaster, superchips flash paq programmer,K&N CAI, Im hoping it will make a diffferenece

Thats a sweet Build you got going on!! Congrats.....

But I really don't think it will be in the 8 or 9s in a truck body. My guess would be in the 10s at best..... unless you end up with more power then you were hoping for

Either way, its going to be one bad ass truck:smileup:

Yeah, I assumed he was talking about hopefully running an 8 in the 1/8 mile as NA. There is no way he'll get under 10 even with 10psi and a 100 shot. With the 600 hp he's hoping for, he should look for low 12's. Unless he does a lot of weight reduction and some big slicks on the back and a lot of transmission work. Other than that, sounds like a great project.
