Seat Back Adjustment Broken
My truck has the full power driver's seat with lumbar adjustment. Up and down for the front and rear of the seat stopped working, no big deal. I wrapped the screws a towel and turned them with a wrench till I had a comfortable adjustment.
But my handle for the seat back stripped out. I tried adjusting with a wrench but it would not turn. I removed the seat bottom and the side plastic shield. I took apart the mechanism that adjusts the seat back. When I tried to pull the wire that works the whatever inside the seat back it would not move. I latched on to that thing with a pair of pliers and really pulled. Nothing. I did not want to break it so I just put everything back together.
Anybody have any luck fixing something like this? I don't want to give the stealership a bunch of money for a new seat back. They would probably want to sell me a whole new seat anyway.
Could go to the junkyard and get a used assembly . Swap it out yourself .
Local guy wants 75 for the whole seat. Won't separate. I'd still rather fix what I got.
Anybody have similar issues, suggestions?
(I know, buy the seat right? )
