Detailing my truck! Progress Thread

I figured I would need to make a thread to keep myself accountable

Starting pictures [these are just for now, will use lighting to show defects later]

You can see the paint, after 11 years, is still in decent shape. Light swirls and bluring/double imaging.

There are many many many swirls, RIDS, light scratches and contaminated areas throughout.

I have never been this extensive with vehicle detailing as I never used corrective polishes with a DA. I'm very interested in seeing how the M105/M205 combo works with the new LC Hydro-Tech pads as well

Steps WILL include

Wash
• Pre-rinse
• Meguiars D103 APC+ [4:1] on heavy contamination areas
• Agitate APC+ areas
• Rinse
• Dawn to strip waxes

Clay
• Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Bar
• Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine [2:1] as lubrication
• ONR wash [1 ounce ONR to 2 gallons water] / Rinse
• Air Dry / Waffle Weave drying microfiber

Polish
• Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher
• LC Cyan Hydro-Tech Foam Pad + Meguiar's M105 Ultra Cut
• IPA wipe-down
• LC Tangerine Hydro-Tech Foam Pad + Meguiar's M205 Ultra Finishing Polish
• IPA wipe-down + Prep wash if needed

Wax
• Collinite 845IW
• Collinite 476S

Wheels
• Collinite 845IW
• Klasse AIO

Windows & Glass
• Stoner Invisible Glass Trio

Tires
• Meguiar's D170 Hyper Dressing [4:1]

Trim
• Collinite 845IW
• Klasse AIO

Products will be here this Wednesday and Friday. This weekend though next weekend I should have things underway :smiley_thumbs_up:

Hmmm . . . the Ram could use a bit of polishing while you are at it ;)

Exactly. I have been meaning to do it for a LONG time, but never had an extra chunk of cash until my Birthday the other week and I needed to find something to buy [not tuition like my parents suggested]. I figured I can help myself and others by getting all of the supplies needed

I'm looking at 14+ hours of work into this. Interior as well, but nothing extensive beyond cleaning the door jams, APC on the vinyl and plastics, and carpets washed and vacuumed.

Hope this thread stays alive so I can keep that fire until my butt.
