Viper here to stay?

November 27th, 2009 by DaveAdmin
The Dodge Viper, only recently posted up for sale, has now been granted a new lease on life, albeit probably not in its current form. Past the 500 cars

to be made in this generation’s form, Ralph Gilles said that the Viper had a definite future.

“We’re going to keep Dodge’s performance icon alive and well by not only producing some of the most special Viper's ever built, but we’re also investigating what the next-generation Viper is going to be. When we have partners across the ocean who are known as the best sports carmakers in the world, the future opportunities are huge.”

Fiat currently owns Maserati and 85% of Ferrari as well as Alfa Romeo and Lancia.
Chrysler worked with Maserati on the Chrysler TC in the 1980s.

Oh thank god. That would've been a travesty to lose the Viper. Am now looking forward to seeing what Fiat and Chrysler can make of the new Viper, it's gonna be SICK, I know it.

I'll be at a Chrysler school monday and I'll pick the instructors brains a little. These guys are hardwired to Detroit, so if there's any news, they'll have it. Ill post if I find out anything interesting.

Looking forward to what you come up with!

Good to hear that one is not going anywhere, so now I am really curious to see what they're gonna do with it! :smiley_thumbs_up:

Yeah, it's good to hear that it'll stay. I'm interested to see what the engineers from maserati and ferrari have to input. It'll be insane i'm sure.

The instructor I spoke with today confirms the Viper isn't going anywhere but can't say for sure which engineers may contribute to its future.
