LSD

Ok after doing my burnouts I have noticed I left a thick black mark with the back right wheel and a not so heavy mark with the back left.

This Got me thinking can you get an LSD (Limited Slip Diff) for the dodge ram either a 1.5 lock or better a 2way? Just like you can for supra's and skylines etc.

Oh yeh I have a 1998 5.9 Dodge ram sport.

Many thanks

You could install a switchable Detroit Locker...have LSD when you want it, regular open differential operation when you want that.

Or an ARB air locker. There are several designs on the market.

What Remerson said...that's another good choice!

yeah...the differentials in our trucks are the clutch type. They only spin posi when they have a load on them (ie pulling a trailer), when traction is important.

The thing is, when your doing a burnout, yes theres an initial load on it, but, its not fully locking.
Now, try getting stuck on a thin film of mud (I did it...lol)...only 1 wheel spun, and I have a 3.55 Posi.

So, you could upgrade, or, just slap a dana in there, and get a bullet proof rear while your at it :p

Posi units in these trucks are junk anyway . Look at putting something else in or some form of locker .
