silly question? about 06-08 2wd rams
im looking at a reg cab 06 2wd ram... is the axle above the frame (so adding blocks will lower it) or under the from(so i will have to do the axle flip kit to lower it).... your help is greatly appreciated

I think the tubes are under the leafs. I had an 08 2wd and pretty sure thats how it was so i ended up doing drop shackles but only got me like 2" or 2.5?

awsome thanks so much and i def ment leafs not axle lol, thats what i thought i went to stylin to check out the drop kits and they all said that but i wanted to tripple check for i bite off more than i can chew

Ya im pretty sure there set up just like the 4x4s actually. leaf over axle so you gotta do a flip to really slam it. Thats why i did the shackles. Im sure if i coulda used blocks i would have

o yeah easy and cheap haha, did you like the way your shackles turned out?

ya it basically leveled the truck out. looked pretty good but i thought maybe adding drop leafs in the back and 2" drop coils up front woulda been nice and that way i could turn it back stock if i wanted. Do an axle flip and your getting into cutting and welding

dodgetrucks 01-03-2010 12:07 AM

yeah thats what gets me... i can do the bolt on stuff easy lol but ill pass on the cuttin and welding.... good idea of the drop leafs, you def just conviced me to do it, thanks

jus happy to help! Maybe try summit racing. they carry alot of drop leafs/coils. usually got good prices too

dodgetrucks 01-03-2010 12:28 AM

ok, i went back to stylin... they want like 170 for ONE 2" drop leaf spring.... so thats like 340 bucks.... ouch

yotehtr 01-03-2010 12:32 AM

ya its enough. hopefully you can find some cheaper! but then again if it saves cuttin and weldin.....
