Oh NO blue smoke....

:4-dontknow:: I just changed to synthetic on my hemi. I put 7 quarts in. I did not notice when it has break in oil, but now, on cold starts a blue puff comes out when started then it runs normal (a lil white right now but thats cuz of cold) ANY HELP?

Dont know how close you were to actual break in. If you were only a couple hundred miles away then leave it. If you drove off the lot and changed it before the majority could take place and havent put many miles on it then change it back. If your already a number of miles into the syn. oil and the blue or white smoke seems to be fading then leave it. Not sure what else you can do really.

If it's just a single puff on cold start up, I wouldn't worry just yet. Keep an eye on your oil level and any startup smoke between now and the next service.

Ok thanks Randy. My dealer is so far away :( Yea its a small puff, like a fart..
I think it may have an ounce or so to much oil as it sits a cm higher than the dip stick mark though i doubt thats why.

No, overfilling a tad won't cause that. If you poured 7 quarts in, you're fine. Dipsticks aren't super accurate anyway.
