Blacked out taillight
Hey guys I just used some of that VHT for my third brake light. I like it looks pretty good. It took about 5 hours with most of it sit time, letting it all dry. I still have to wet sand it and polish it so it might come out a little better. I did 3 light coats of VHT and then 3 coats of clearcoat. I'm going to do my tailights after I get my lightbar installed under the tailgate. You can actually see the light come through really well.

Heres the pics

Hey that looks great. It is surprising isnt it. I did all my lights even the heads. Funny thing the opther day at Timhortons. I pulled up and a cop was trying to get out. I flashed him a couple times and proceeded and waved. How does that sound. Cool EH!

yea I like how this VHT stuff looks. I have to polish it up but i think it still looks good now

haha nice work with the cops. i am kinda worried about them with the black taillights. Thats why I'm waiting for my light bar to come in. At least I'll have that too for brake lights. Added light I guess

You will be surprised. I did mine two coats. Let them dry and tried the brake light. IE wedged my scraper/brush into the seat and pedal to see what it would look like. Great. Not alot of difference at all.:smileup:Canuckboy did his as well. Hes surprised as well.

Looks great Skat! It'll look good on the tail lights too when you get it done. Any plans to modding the taillights to get a more distinctive look? Maybe Halos? I know AAC has a kit.

Came out great but I'm wondering what you mean by polishing? Is that like wetsanding? Do you need to clear coat them afterwards for it to last or not?

I never sanded mine at all. So far this winter all the lights i did seem to be holding up fine. Even if theres a few spots at 18 bucks a can its not hard to do and cheap. Looks great and the product is great as well. Cant say that about everything you buy nowadays.
