Major damage at auto auction
you may have heard about the storm that passed through southern california & then hit Las Vegas, where the Barrett Jackson auto auction is taking place.

what you may or may not have heard, there is also another collector car auction happening there also

Russo & Steele collector car auction was hit hard by the high winds, huge tents blew over, tent poles struck several vehicles & at least one person

here are some pix of the damage

its not pretty :(

That is sad to see. I was watching Barrett the night the weather was bad and they were telling people to stay inside. We are getting that storm right now but it is just rain here with a few gusts of wind here and there.

$1.5 million in estimated damage....ouch! I hope those cars were insured or would those damages be considered "acts of god" and not covered?

Tom, this auction was going on at the time as the BJ auction

Russo & Steele's Scottsdale tents collapse during auction
January 21, 10:57 PM - Classic Autos Examiner, Jim Cherry

Severe weather punishing the American West struck Scottsdale, Arizona with full fury this afternoon during Russo & Steele's auction of ultra rare, blue chip classic cars.

Now that is a crying shame, there are some absolutely classic vehicles there.
