Such a dog when pulling

I had forgot how bad the 1500 doesn't like to pull anything

i had a hell of time getting up a small grade
the truck just peters out

just wondering if those bullydog/ superchips type programmers are worth the money to help out when towing the jeep

I had OD off but it was hell trying to merge onto a 4lane traffic that is going 65mph

Sure you don't have a problem like maybe the start of a clogged convertor ?

AustinLC 01-25-2010 07:55 PM

it does fine when i dont have the trailer on there... i can gas it and it responds nicely

just i know i have a 1/2 ton was hoping it would pull a lil nicer

Maybe consider a gear change .

AustinLC 01-26-2010 01:11 AM

would a superchip help in this area?
i seen someone else talkn about the super ship 3715 or something like that

also wouldn't gears be about 250 per axle

would these changes just be minor helps and all in all a 1500 just isn't meant to pull a 1300lb trl with a 4500lb jeep on it

maybe time to upgrade to 2500 gas/diesel/hemi?

buy a diesel. you are asking for trouble towing with a half ton, and its an automatic? not trying to be a d#@k but your asking for it.

AustinLC 01-26-2010 08:35 PM

well most of the trips will be within 5-6 hours and a few will be out of state
people pull with 1500 all the time
if i had the money i would trade in for a 4 door diesel
but my post is about asking if there are any little things that could help with what i have

Not Really:Hey:

AustinLC 01-26-2010 08:46 PM

so i figured i was pretty much stuck and wasting money or mods wouldn't really benefit
so if a diesel is not in my price range would just a 04 2500 4wd gasser be sufficient

reider 01-26-2010 10:06 PM

id honestly save your money till u find a decent diesel. theres really not a whole lot you can do to a gasser to notice a big difference, unless you want to spend rediculous amounts of money
