Loose mirror fix

Is there a way to fix a loose door mirror? Mine just rotates freely and won't stay put.

Do you have a pic of how the mirror looks so we can see where it swivels or better description?

I may have a suggestion depending on where.

Is it the whole housing or just the glass portion?

it is the mirror itself right where the mirror attaches to the door. look at this pic, it is where the "rod" goes into the door.

Automotive adhesive, you can get it at the auto parts store. It holds up to the elements and bonds with plastic

will mirrors from a 98-02 fit? I know they are a different design, but if you change out the whole thing, would it work?

yes they should fit too

Underneith the door panel there are two or three nuts, that hold the mirror on. Check those they might be loose. Or you can tighten up the screws, that hold the chrome "pipe" in place. If tightening the pipe screws dosn't work you can put in another piece of plastic shim to tighten the pipe. There are four screws that hold the pipe. To get to the pipe screws, remove the 'chrome outside cover', their is an allen screw on the bottom of it. Then slide the cover out of the way the best you can.
