4.7/Manual Tranny Performance with Lift/Bigger Tires
New to the forums. Been reading posts ALL day though, getting ideas, etc.

I've got a 2004 Ram 4.7 SLT Quad Cab Long Bed / manual tranny. My tires are getting a little bald so I'm looking to put a 2.5" leveling kit and probably 33's. Didn't see anything in the 4.7 forum about experiences with 33-35 inch tires on a 4.7 without gears. Anybody want to share their experience(s)?

I'll probably end up doing gears at the same time as the lift, but just wanted to see what others were doing.

Welcome! Glad to have you here! Sorry I can't chime in on this one, but I'm sure someone else will. As you'll find out, there are a lot of helpful people on here. Enjoy the site!

My cousin has same truck with short box and auto tranny with leveling kit and 35x12.50x20's and it's not a speed demon by any means but it works you just wont be towing much.

Cool, that's what I was looking for. Not planning on doing any towing anyways. I might actually doing the leveling kit and tires first and see how it feels. I'm more worried about my clutch and how it will handle the bigger tires on stock gears.
