Windshield replacement

Hey Guys, I got a small chip in my windshield and was wondering if the replace my windshield will the new one have the ram emblem at the top? i really don't want to lose that. thanks for any help.

I doubt an aftermarket windshield would have it but if you get one from the dealer it should.

If you just a a small chip and want that fixed, you might check around with companies that replace auto glass. Some have special resins they can use to fill in the chip to fix it without replacing the glass. I know they advertise it with a company named Safelite. I have had them replace windows a few times on some past vehicles and they did great work.

Oh and honestly, probably the dealership will not be able to order the replacement glass with the RAM logo. Most dealership body shops use 3rd party auto glass companies when they need the glass replaced.

Your best bet is to ask. But the logo is trademarked so if the replacement manf does not have authorization to use it, it will probably not be there.

Here is some info.

if your chip can be covered by a quarter you should get the repair, if its chipped & has some sand blasting then replace it.
there is a cool website that specializes in decals, windshield & rear window, as well as for the body, your custom design or out of their catalog

i have to tailgate semi trucks for a living, i would have chips & sand blasted windshield all the time, so when i bought my truck i called a service & had a special chemical applied to my windshield, it makes the glass harder & so far i have had at least 3 rocks (big enough to see them coming) hit my windshield & there are no stars or chips that i can readily see. its called Diamon-Fusion. 1 word of caution, cover your anti theft serial number on the glass, before its applied, it will remove the acid glass etching

yes you can order one with it (i asked a shop near me), i just chipped my windshield but if it is small you can fix it at the auto store for 15 USD i saved a lot of cash there

I wouldn't mess with it myself as most all insurance companies wave the deductable if you do a fix rather than replacement.
