Are back up cams worth it????
Soo i've been told by many friends back-up-camera's are for people that don't know how to drive.. I guess i wanted to hear what you guys have to say..

I think they are kinda kool.. cuz ill be installing my new stereo system and there is a spot for a back-up cam.. thought about getting one

I think they're pretty cool. If you have a spot for one, I'd say go for it.

i guess another question would be has anyone bought an aftermarket one that they would suggest.. and i'm guess you just cut a hole in your bumper/mount it somewhere.. and run it through your firewall..

Just wondering if there is a how to as well

I like mine a lot.

I have one on my F-350, and I can back myself up to my air trailers in one go. Wish I had one in my ram just so I know what's back there since I have smaller sports mirrors. This is a great mod to get, and don't listen to those guys, they're well worth it.

I toltally disagree with that statement. Its a great safe idea. I know a few people who have them because of were they live....tight quarters. If you want one i would never say............what a waist of money.

I agree, go for it - especially if you can do a built in job on the monitor . I've got an aftermarket and that's the only kick I have with mine, locating the monitor. I don't have a console so it sits on the cup holder at the bottom of the dash. That's really too low when you're glancing back and forth between it and the three mirrors. (I would have gone with the monitor built into the rear view mirror but my rear view is auto dimming and I didn't want to loose that capability.

As far as the camera mine is built into the tag frame. I'm also running mine in the wireless mode with no issues. That way I didn't have to snake the video cable up to and inside the cab. Go to Amazon and search for automotive backup cameras. I bought mine from the Tadi Bros store there. No problems with the product or customer service.

wireless would be really nice way to go except i can't find any that don't come with a monitor... i would use my need Head unit as the monitor.. Also looking for something not too expensive but good quality
