LED Map lights

Hello all, I am having a bit of difficulty getting my OEM maplights out to put in my new LED lights. I've got the lens out and need to apparently remove the reflective material to get to the bulb base. Anyone have a writeup on how to accomplish this? Many thanks in advance.

This might get you started in the right direction until you get a definitive answer. I remember seeing a post about it but can't find the one for the 2009. If I remember correctly, you have to gently remove the map light covers with a flat edge. Under there, there are some screws. Take a look at this link though until you get a final answer.

Thanks for the tip, I will have another look after work. I took out the maplight covers pretty easily. I'm just stuck on the reflective part.

That thread did not apply to my truck unfortunately. There aren't any screws. I've tried googling the issue to no avail. Hopefully someone will come through with a pretty diagram from their service manual.

I was able to figure it out. I decided to go a bit risky. Since my hands are a little big to firmly grasp the bulb in tiny spaces, I put electrical tape on a small pair of needle-nose plyers. I was careful to not squeeze the bulb too hard so as to not break the bulb. I wiggled back and forth and was able to free the bulb without removing the reflective shield. I then plugged in the LED adapter and then the LED bulb. It looks fantastic! I'll post pics after work tonight.

Here are the pics of my LED map lights. The pics were taken during the day. They are super bright! They light up my entire cab when I get in.
