I had a shake when I was going down the road too. But let off and would go away for a little bit.
I just got it back from the shop and it had new u-joints, brakes and rotors, and the main piece a wheel bearing was bad. But I think ball joints can give you that shake too, cause thats what I thought was wrong with mine till today.

it could be several things
incorrect tire pressure
front end alignment
tire wear from bad shocks, check for cupping
bad tire, look for a bubble, usually in the side walls

others may come up with different ideas

A vibration like that can be cause by anything that moves in the driveline and suspension. Start with the basics. When's the last time you had the tires balanced and were they just spin balanced or road force balanced?

I had the same problem, though it was my rotors. I had original wrangler HP's on the rear and both were cupping and inside wear. Replace with Cooper HT plus. No more vibration.
