What do you guys tow?
Just curious what you guys tow with your ram. I am looking at a trailer weighing about 8000 lbs and a 700 lb quad in the box. Hopefully not too much for this truck. Let me know

Well today I had 22 2X6 12' long, 9 sheets of plywood, 5 4X4 cedar posts and 9 packs of shingles not to mention 3 passengers...pulled like a train engine!!

Gypsy looking trailers carrying hookers

Hemi handles it no problem! :git:

That sounds like a lot of weight for a 1500 chassis, might want to look into helper bags, but the engine should pull it fine, provided you're not headed to the mountains. Now, if I was an oilers fan, i'be running to the hills and hiding too

I don't pull anything with my ram, that's what my superduty is for

Putting the 1000 lb bags in for sure. I cant figure out, nor can Dodge, or Alberta transportation, why the 09 is rated to haul 7400 lbs (trailer capacity) and the 10 is good for 9900 (equally equipped) Both trucks have the same gvw(6800) and the same axle ratings(3900 front and 3900 back) and i have checked the dealerships and the trucks r the same right down to the tires. It's got me and about 5 others stumped, lol

The increased ratings are old news. You can read about it here.

so not to beat a dead horse but if the 10's are good for the new ratings are the 09's being rated to that as well?

topgun 03-29-2010 12:03 PM

The 09's should be good for that too although the paperwork will not show the higher numbers. So to be legal with an 09, you'd have to stick with it's lower ratings.

Kinda what I thought. I did talk to a guy Department of transportation guy and all he said is make sure the tires are rated for the load and that the unit "looks" legal and because it isn't a commercial vehicle no one would ever bother me. I am more curious about whether the truck is going to comfortably pull that kind of wieght, that is why i was curious as to what guys are pulling already
