Mods Without Voiding

I just bought my new Ram and have a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty that I don't want to void. So I'm wondering what mods I can make. Does a CAI and new exhaust void it? Also, I saw one of those power/mpg chips on eBay, the kind in a little box that installs under the hood. They say this does not void the warranty and you get a power & mpg boost, anyone tried one of these? Does it work??

Thanks,

Matt

you can still get a CAI and exhaust done, and if you're worried about the warranty, the MOPAR performance kits are a good buy, jusst have them installed at a certified place and they CAN NOT void the warranty since they are OEM performance parts, plus the exhaust is actually made by Gibsons. And whatever you do, if you like your truck, is pick up one of those eBay 'universal' chips, they will cause you more grief than gains, and any computer modification will void the warranty. Now, the diablosport predator guarantees no shadow on the computer when removed, and that is a great programmer.

Great post by CD. Go with MOPAR and pay for the certified install, it'll be worth it.

It's recently come to my attention that even some Mopar accessories can void your warranty if it's stated that the item is for off road use only. You should check with your dealers service department if there's any doubt.

My friend just had an issue with the predator tuner... the delership could see that it had been installed... he also had superchips and they could not see that tuner

safe bet is CAI and exhuast, The chip a little risky If it needs to be worked on @ dealer you would have to take it off every time your choice goodluck, can't go wrong with MOPAR.

CAI and cat-back did not void my warranty. Please do not consider the "chip" off of ebay. It is nothing more than a resistor to alter values to your computer. If you want real performance, and increase in MPG, get a tunner. I purchased the U7137 Diablosport Predator. It backs up the stock tune, so upon dealer trip, you can reload. My dealer has never found ANY trace of the programmer in spite of what some folks say. The tunner is amazing, and you can tune using preset tunes, or custom tunes. But again, please do not buy off of ebay for this type of equipment.

I think getting the CAI and exhaust will be fine. As for the chip do not get those cheap ones off of ebay, they don't do anything. go get the predator from Diablosport. i have gone to the dealership and they have not said anything and i kept the 93 oct tune in hahaha. I wouldn't suggest doing that though

I think the Mopar stuff would be good to get, at least you will have the excuse that they made it haha

As the others said, dont go cheap with an ebay chip. You get what you pay for when it comes to tuning a pcm.
